Year 6 arrived at school at an especially early time on Monday, ready for our adventure in London. First, we drove into the heart of London, spotting some special sights along the way: the queen was in Windsor Castle, we were in awe of the amazing Natural History Museum and even the slow traffic was very much what we would expect in London!
The bus dropped us off near Trafalgar Square. After enjoying the fountains, we walked into St James’ Park just in time to see the Horse Guards parade along Pall Mall. We took in a closer look of Buckingham Palace before a sport of lunch in the park. Passing through Horse Guards parade, we watched the changing of the guards and passed both the Cenotaph and Downing Street. We paused on Westminster Bridge to take in the incredible views of the River Thames, the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye in the distance.
Back on the bus, we drove the heart of London, treated to the traditionally busy roads before a brief pause at the O2, where we looked across towards Canary Wharf and the many skyscrapers that dominate the London skyline.
