Year 5 Showstoppers! (Video of our Music Festival entry!)

Over the last few weeks we have been busy preparing/rehearsing two songs for the Marlborough Schools Music Festival. The festival was a celebration of music spanning the Queen’s reign so far. Ten schools from across the Marlborough cluster gathered together to perform a range of songs. All the schools joined together to perform ‘Anthem for 22’ – a song all ten schools collaborated on with professional musician Louise Jordan. For the individual school performances, we were given the 2010’s as the decade to choose our song from and the children decided on Titanium by David Guetta featuring Sia! The children particularly liked some of the lyrics about people standing up for themselves/each other and linked this to things the are passionate about… Here are some images and a video of us preparing for the event…

Back at the festival, it was soon time for our individual school performance an the children were AMAZING! They performed in front of more than 250 other children and staff and really did steal the show! I could write loads more describing how utterly brilliant they all were but you can see for yourself… Here is the performance:
