What an amazing day we’ve had on our first House Day of the year!
We started by sorting our new Reception children into their houses and then, in our houses teams, completed a selection of challenges.
The children were first challenged to use scrap materials to solve a tricky problem e.g. to build a bridge to cross a river or invent a new piece of equipment to catch a monster fish.
Later, we learnt about Greta Thunberg’s recent zero-carbon crossing of The Atlantic and used this as inspiration to build our own balloon powered cars.
The children were also challenged to design and build a catapult.
Our Year 6s led their teams brilliantly and made sure that everyone was involved and had an amazing day!
