Rowan visit the Pitt Rivers and Natural History Museums

Rowan class had a really interesting day visiting the Pitt Rivers and Natural History museums. In the morning, we explored the vast Natural History Museum collection, awed by everything from fossils, to rock formations to taxidermy animals. We particularly liked the beautiful brown bear and T-Rex skeleton!

After lunch, we headed to the Pitt Rivers museum, where we spent some time handling Mayan artefacts. These included cacao pods/beans, a jade ear plug, a stone calendar and more. We were also shown around the museum to look at a few artefacts on display, such as clothing, drinking vessels and statues. We used what we saw in the museum to design our own Mayan headdresses!
