Rowan Class have been busy finding out about Antarctica this week. The children used Google Earth to explore the landscape and discover the many research centres. They were amazed to find out that even though no one truly ‘owns’ Antarctica, many countries have a claim to parts of the land.
We have also been reading ‘Shackleton’s Journey’ in English and discovering all about his incredible expedition to Antarctica. In art, the children used an image of his ship ‘The Endurance’ departing from Plymouth and were challenged to create a modern day version.
The children have also been learning about colours and body parts in French using the book Va-t’en, grand monstre vert!
