Oak Class enjoy a busy, if slightly different, start to term…

Even though we are having to learn from home, Oak Class have kicked off the term with a bang. One of our learning tasks was to complete a project, writing a travel brochure for the Arctic or Antarctic. There were some beautifully written examples!

We have also been reading Shackleton’s Journey, the story of Ernest Shackleton’s expedition to the South Pole (spoiler: it didn’t go well). We learnt that they took dogs with them to pull sledges and carry their equipment and we thought about the qualities their dogs would have needed.

From English to Maths, from Science to Geography, there has been so much going on already this term. While we’re sad not to have the children in school, we have been amazed by the amazing learning that Oak Class have done so far this term. Well done, Year 6!
