Map making and house designs in Hazel

Hazel were so excited to be back in the forest this week, where there was plenty of time for building, digging, painting and exploring. We love seeing where the children’s imaginations take them when they have the freedom to investigate and create outdoors!

Back in the classroom, we embarked on our new Drawing Club adventures. The children were challenged to design a home they would love to live in — and their imaginations certainly didn’t disappoint! We had everything from magical treehouses and sunny beach huts to futuristic space homes, underwater palaces and secret underground lairs.

In Geography, we became map makers! We started by creating a map of our classroom, thinking carefully about where everything belongs and how we could make sure the distances between objects were as accurate as possible. It was lovely to see the children beginning to think like little geographers!
