Mrs Arkwright introduced our value for this term – ‘friendship’ – in our whole school Collective Worship this week. The year 6s put on an excellent sketch to highlight the power of kind words and the impact of just one negative or mean comment. The wonderful ‘Scaredy squirrel’ then shared his concerns about making new friends and there were lots of fantastic discussions and ideas about what makes a good friend. Children said that ‘friends love you for who you are, not what you look like’ and that ‘friends help you up when you get knocked down’.
We know we have some great friends in our school and Mrs Arkwright challenged all the children to think how they can be a good or even better friend over the coming weeks.
