This term in DT we have been focusing on food technology. We have been learning about how to keep our bodies healthy, looking at what makes a balanced plate and the different food groups.
This week we designed our own flapjack recipe. We explored different ingredients by tasting and smelling spices and dried fruits and decided whether we preferred honey or golden syrup. We created a tally chart to record our design ideas and unsurprisingly chocolate chips was the clear winner! Today we made our basic flapjacks and we will compare them to our chocolate chip flapjacks next week, when we will evaluate which recipe we like the best!
