Cherry and Elder food tasters and WW2 historians!

Year 3 and Year 4 have had an incredible fun and exciting day!

They began their day becoming chefs and food tasters. The children had to try the vegetarian chili to see which parts they liked and which parts they didn’t  like. They also could experiment with the herbs and spices. Some children got a little chili happy…

They can’t wait to cook their dishes next week!

In the afternoon, the children had the incredible Heritage group take them on a walk around the village. The walk allowed the children to learn all about the history of WW2 and how Aldbourne was involved. There is so much History in the village and the children were absolutely fascinated.

They got to go inside a real Nissan hut, see the chicken that was shot by the American soldiers and saw many other famous locations. Also, the children had the opportunity to explore the Heritage Centre in the village. They finished off by visiting Lt Dick Winters, who was the leader of the Band of Brothers, bench at the top of the church garden.

Thank you again to our incredible Aldbourne Heritage group, who yet again gave up their own time to share their wealth of knowledge with our children.
