Acorn Class: Celebrating Diwali

This week in Acorn Class we have been exploring different celebrations. The children have thought about some of the special times they celebrate, Halloween, birthdays, Christmas and Easter were shared. We know that some children in England are celebrating Diwali this week. Diwali is a special time for Hindus, it’s the festival of lights.

Our challenge this week has been how to get ready for a party during our busy time. Some children have made cakes in the sand and mud kitchen, created cards, and put their best party clothes on.

We have been using clay to make diva lamps, the light stands for hope and happiness. Also, we have made Rangoli patterns with coloured sand and PVA glue. Rangoli patterns are bright and colourful and they bring good luck.
