A Week of Fun with Mr. Wolf’s Pancakes!

This week, the children have had so much fun exploring the story Mr. Wolf’s Pancakes by Jan Fearnley. It’s been lovely to see how this funny and exciting tale has inspired lots of creative ideas!

After listening to the story together, during our play time, Acorn Class have been busy drawing story maps, making up their own characters and also this week, some children have worked collaboratively to build their own version of Mr. Wolf’s neighbourhood, using wooden blocks, cardboard boxes and other materials to construct houses, shops and streets. Inspired by the book, children have also created their own stories and acted them out through role play.

The highlight of the week has definitely been making our own pancakes today! The children helped measure the ingredients, mix the batter and most importantly, when the pancakes were ready, everyone got to taste them if they wanted to.
