What a great day we had at Westonbirt Arboretum! The sun was shining, and there was so much to see, do, and explore.
We started with a fun workshop all about trees – we acted out the different parts of a tree (being the bark was a favourite!), and then pretended to be tiny seeds growing into big plants. We learned loads about the life cycle of plants, all through games and movement.
As we explored the arboretum, we kept our eyes peeled for all kinds of trees – tall ones, bumpy ones, evergreens, and deciduous. We used our senses too: feeling bark textures, hunting for different leaves, and making our own “smelly shakes” out of herbs and leaves we found along the way!
There was also loads of time for outdoor play – climbing on logs, jumping off tires, balancing, clambering, and generally having a brilliant time.
It really was a fantastic day – full of fresh air, fun, and adventure. Westonbirt, we loved every minute!
