St. Michael’s Weekly Post – For Week Beginning 23rd September 2019

20th September 2019

Nasal Flu Vaccination:  The Virgincare Immunisation Team will be in school on the 10th October 2019 to administer the annual flu vaccination.  All years will be vaccinated.  Please give your consent before the 27th September 2019 via https://schoolimms.virgincare.co.uk/flu/2019/wilts.  The form takes about 5 minutes to complete per child.  If you have any queries, please see the FAQ on the link or contact the team directly on 0300 247 0082.    If you do not have access to a computer please see Mrs Lambert in the school office.

Year 6 Residential:  Have you looked on our website to see what our Year 6’s are getting up to on their residential?  Look at their adventures building rafts, trying archery, and lifesaving.  It really is worth a look!

Can you help:  KS1 are continually updating and changing our resources and, as such, we would be grateful for any donations of the following to add to our resource bank; fashion jewellery, authentic large items such as old fashioned suitcases, treasure chests etc. unwanted large pebbles, gravel, small logs etc. that might be left over from a garden project. On an ongoing basis – lavender, herbs, cut flowers, berries etc. for our potion stations, and of course, a never ending supply of junk modelling!

Years 3 and 4:  On Friday 27th September, Years 3 and 4 will be going on a geography and science trip to Dunraven Bay. Please can children be at school for 7.30am.  They will need to wear weather appropriate clothing including waterproof shoes and need to bring a packed lunch, snacks and drinks suitable for a full day outside. If your child normally has a school lunch, a packed lunch will be provided.

Thank you to all the parents who have volunteered. The coach is now full and we are unable to take any more volunteers with us. Your child’s teacher will confirm if they would like you to join them.

Years 5 and 6:  On Friday 27th September, Year 5 and 6 will be visiting Marlborough Literacy Festival to see John Dougherty.  Children will have the opportunity of buying signed copies of his books in the series, ‘Stinkbomb and Ketchup Face’.  The books will be sold at a reduced price of £6 each. If you wish to buy his books, it would be appreciated if children could bring the correct amount of money with them to the talk.

We will be asking for volunteers to take the children to Marlborough.  To give consent for your child to attend the Literacy Festival and indicate if you can help with transport, please complete the slip overleaf.

Aldi Get Set to Eat Fresh:  We are currently involved in Aldi’s Get Set to Eat Fresh Scheme which is running until the 18th November 2019.  For every £30 spent in Aldi you’ll receive a special Team GB athlete sticker.  If the school can collect 300 stickers we will receive an exclusive school sports kit and could win one of twenty £20,000 prizes.  Please place any stickers in the blue post box outside the school office. For more information visit https://getseteatfresh.co.uk/kitforschools or see the school notice board for more details.
