Term 6 is often a busy term and our first week has been no exception. All year groups have been to visit the Church Yard to participate in Count on Nature sessions, run by the Best family. Children have learnt all about the various animal species they may find in their very local habitat.
Children in Birch and Cherry Classes enjoyed a visit from author, Josh Lacey, who has written books including the Dragon Sitter series. It was a wonderful opportunity for the children to get to know more about how these lovely books are written. Thank you to Billy, in Birch Class, and the Aldbourne Children’s Book Group for organising the session.
Oak and Rowan Classes thoroughly enjoyed computing this week with a special workshop run by PrepareRobo! In the workshop, children learnt to build robots, integrating parts such as motors and sensors. They then used a coding program to prepare their robots for battle. It was a brilliant experience for children and they had so much fun developing their impressive computing skills! Please click on the picture for more photos and details on our school blog.
Whole School Ramsbury Trip
On Thursday the whole school will be off on a trip to Ramsbury Estate to immerse themselves in nature. The trip will take place during the normal school day and there is no cost to the trip. We would like to thank the Ramsbury estate for hosting us and for supplying the transport.
On the day, children are to wear forest school clothes and it’s important that all children wear long sleeve tops and long trousers. This is to prevent tick bites. Please apply sun cream ahead of the trip. they are to bring with them the following:
-Water Bottle – Waterproof coat – Sun hat – A small rucksack to carry their lunch
Children will be wearing their welly boots they have in school but if they have walking boots at home, they would be welcome to wear them if they choose to. Children will require a packed lunch, but if children normally have school lunches, Lataca will supply the packed lunch.
Sun Hats and Sun Cream
Please ensure your child has a named sun hat in school every day and sun cream is applied in the morning, before school. Children can have a named bottle of sun cream in their bags (for personal use), so they can top up their sun cream should they choose to.
Sports Day
As a reminder, our Sports Day takes place on 30th June. All the family are welcome to watch and support the children and join us for lunch on the field. You are welcome to come along at various different points of the day or stay for the whole event.

The Summer Fair is next Friday from 4.30pm – 7:00pm, however families are welcome to join us straight after school, on the School Field. Fun and games, “Floor is Lava”, licensed bar, delicious food, children’s activities, school flash mob performance and much much more. All in the glorious sunshine!
