St. Michael’s Weekly Post – 10th September 2021

10th September 2021

Today the children have enjoyed their first House Day of the school year and it is Acorn Class’ first full day in school. This has been a really good opportunity to welcome the reception children into their houses and for children across all classes to come together, which they haven’t been able to do for a long time.  Children have undertaken a mixture of activities including singing, junk modelling and making dollies whilst team building, all based on our story “Here We Are”.

Earrings in school

For children with pierced ears, please make sure they wear small studs only.  These should be covered with medical tape on PE day.

Free School Meals

Please find attached details regarding free school meal eligibility.  If you are in receipt of one of the mentioned benefits we would really appreciate you completing the appropriate form for the child’s year group (also attached) and returning it to Mrs Hamilton (sbm@stmichaelsaldbourne.co.uk), even if your child brings in a packed lunch.

Laptop winners – Thank you Green Machine

We have won a laptop! We have been extremely lucky to win a laptop from Green Machine – IT recycling experts. A big thank you to Green Machine

Recycle your crisp packets

We are continuing to recycle crisp packets in school to prevent them from ending up in landfill. This not only helps the environment but also helps us to raise funds for the community and the school. The School Council have put a special crisp recycling bin in the school hall.

Messages from the PTA

PTA AGM – Our annual general meeting will be held at the school on Monday 27th September. Everyone is welcome. If you aren’t able to join us at school, you can also join virtually through zoom (details on the school diary).  If you can help in any way, big or small, we would love to welcome you, it’s a chance to make new friends as well as raising much needed funds for the school. Please contact us on aldbournepta@gmail.com more information.
