On Thursday this week, Years 3 and 4 travelled back 2000 years to find out more about Roman Britain. We were treated to an amazing morning of hands on exploration supported by the incredible Aldbourne Heritage Group. The children had the chance to handle real Roman artefacts and find out what life might have been like in and around Aldbourne all that time ago. The children used microscopes to look at genuine Roman coins, recreated mosaics and handled 2000 year old glass.
In the afternoon, we challenged each other to a Roman board game and played an exciting game where the ‘Romans’ had to invade and steal from the ‘Celts’.
Massive thanks must go to the Heritage Group for supporting us and to the children and parents for creating the most incredible costumes.
