We ended a fantastic first term for our new reception children with an very special moment in St Michael’s Church: our buddy service to welcome the children officially into St Michael’s School. The reception children spoke about some of the ways in which their buddies have helped them and our amazing Year 6 read the children the story ‘Only One You’ by Linda Kranz, sharing some wise words to guide the children to be their unique selves. Reverend Sue spoke beautifully to the children about the meaning of being a good buddy and our Year 6’s presented the buddies with their very own butterfly slate to keep as a memory of starting their school journey. Back in school we shared drinks and cakes. It was wonderful for Oak and Acorn to share this time with their parents, thanks you to all who came along.
