What a week! Thursday was a highlight for us, with the incredible Explorer Dome in the morning and our walk around the village in the afternoon. The lovely volunteers from the Aldbourne Heritage Group came into school and gave us a short talk about the Great Fire of Aldbourne before we set off around the village to discover where the fire started, how far it spread and what life was like then. The children loved it and have spent today making fire engines out of all the crates and hose outside, making impressive helmets and doing beautiful drawings based on the photos the Heritage Centre leant us. We are so lucky to have such kind people in the village who are always on hand to teach us about all things Aldbourne! Thank you also to the parent volunteers- I hope you enjoyed it.
