What a wonderful afternoon we had learning all about the Great Fire of Aldbourne! Our friends from the Aldbourne Heritage Group shared their incredible knowledge and enthusiasm for history as they took the children on a fascinating walk around the village.
We discovered where the fire began, how it spread through the village and even saw the historic fire engines that were purchased after the fire in 1778 – Adam and Eve! The children were fascinated to learn about how the village looked back in 1777 and what the villagers did after the fire to repair the damage.
A huge thank you to our amazing supporters in the community for helping to bring history to life for our children. It was a memorable afternoon full of curiosity and learning.
