Friday Forest School Fun for Elder!

We had a wonderful afternoon in the Forest today!

We started the session playing a game where we were all blindfolded and had to follow the sound of the tambourine. Some of us found this a little tricky and bumped into each other a few times, but we eventually got the hang of it!

Once we reached the woods, we were keen to go and explore!  Some children enjoyed being creative with wool and sticks, making bow and arrows or journey sticks. Others were keen to practice their skills by whittling and using saws, whilst a few children enjoyed sitting and chatting with friends, climbing trees, or helping to light the fire. We found some very cool fungi growing out of an old branch, which we think may be called ‘Dead Man’s Fingers’!

At the end of the day we all came together for a well deserved hot chocolate, marshmallow toasting and a biscuit or two, along with a story read by Mr Jarvis. What a wonderful way to spend a Friday afternoon!
