Why did the Romans settle in Britain?
Well, this is what Cherry and Elder investigated today. They started their day learning all about maps. They explored using a compass, reading grid references and explored symbols.
Then, the children put their map skills to the test! They had to tell us the directions we were travelling in and had to direct us using the map to the Four Barrows.
Once we arrived at Four Barrows, the children explored the area to understand why Romans settled in this area.
It was a great day allowing the children to put their geographical skills to the test!
P.s. When out on walks, if your child is a member of Cherry and Elder, get them to use a map and a compass and direct you on your walk.
