What a fantastic first week back we’ve had in Birch Class! We started our new Science topic, Materials, with a hunt around the classroom for objects which we then sorted in different ways and learnt some great new words to help us describe their properties. We also gathered some lovely autumn leaves and did some leaf rubbings in art, as well as some tricky continuous line drawings. We are still feeling inspired by the amazing Kapla workshop before the half term and the levels of collaboration and skill now on show are pretty remarkable! The children made the most of their busy time and took their Geography learning about Kenya into their play- creating habitats, a giant mural and houses on stilts. They also embraced our new PE topic of dance and we headed to the Antarctic to become snowflakes and battle blizzards together!
