Year 1 had a brilliant afternoon back in the forest! It looked so different from when we last visited — the canopy was really green and thick, and we spotted new plants like sow parsley and stinging nettles popping up everywhere.
The woods felt full of life, and we spent time looking closely at the leaves, finding out how they are formed. We also made some amazing leaf prints using clay, pressing the leaves in carefully to see all the tiny details.
It was a warm day, so instead of needing to warm up, we just enjoyed some delicious hot chocolate as a treat. After that, we got really creative — the children made bug hotels for the snails they found and had loads of fun using clay to make faces for the trees.
It was such a fun afternoon of exploring, creating, and enjoying the forest!
