St. Michael’s Weekly Post – For Week Beginning 24th June 2019

5th July 2019

Year 4:  As part of our topic ‘The View from your Window’ Year 4 have been learning about changing environments. On Tuesday 9th July we plan to walk from school to visit the site of the abandoned village of Snap. We will enjoy a picnic lunch before returning to school for 3.15pm. The children will need suitable walking shoes/trainers and long trousers. All children must have a hat and water bottle and a small rucksack to carry their lunch. If anyone would like to volunteer to join us on our walk, please let Mrs Ford know.

Year 5 and selected Year 6:  On Thursday 11th July, Year 5 and selected Year 6’s will be attending a Cricket day at Marlborough College.  Part of the day will be spent watching English Ladies play Australia in a warm up match before The Ashes.  We do need help with transporting children to and from Marlborough College leaving St Michael’s at approximately 9.30am and returning at 2pm.  To give consent and to offer help please complete the slip overleaf. For more information see separate letter.

Year 3 and 4 Food Business Project: As part of our topic ‘How does the view from your window shape your life?’ Years 3 and 4 have formed ‘companies’ and are creating their own food products based on local produce. We started with a talk from Ramsbury Estate who explained how they took an idea for a product all the way from ‘field to fork’. The culmination of our project is an opportunity for the children to share their final products with you at The St. Michael’s Food Festival! The children will set up a market with all of their products for you to see and taste. We hope that you will join us at 2.30pm on Wednesday 10th July to see all their hard work.  The project will involve lots of ingredients. We would be very grateful for a contribution of £3 towards this cost which you can pay on ParentPay.

Reception and Year 1:  Please can you ensure library books are returned next week.
