St. Michael’s Weekly Post – 9th September 2022

9th September 2022

As a school, we are all thinking about the life of Queen Elizabeth  II.  Today the school came together, along with Rev. Sue Rodd, for a special assembly to remember and celebrate the Queen’s reign. We reflected on her dedication and the commitment she showed throughout her life. We are going to miss her being our Queen.

We shared this photograph, which we felt demonstrated her sense of fun.

This week we have made a few changes to our class teacher structure following Mrs Duck’s absence due to illness.

Willows Request

If you have any home grown produce, such as cooking apples, rhubarb, plums, blackberries, Willows would really appreciate the contribution.

Parking in the Village

Due to the amount of traffic using Back Lane, we would politely request that parents do not park in Back Lane, St Michael’s Close, outside the school gates or in the school car park (this is reserved for school staff and disabled access).  Please park courteously around the village and make sure that an emergency vehicle can get through if needed.

We also would like to thank you for your patience whilst our car park gates are in the process of being fitted.

After School Clubs – September

We are excited to share that this term we will be trialling a new Performing Arts Club.  A fun performance club that teaches the foundations of singing, dancing and acting. They will introduce lots of confidence boosting activities, games and teach to popular musical theatre and chart music.

School Lunches

If you haven’t already done so, should your children require school lunches please order these via the Lataca ParentMail app.

Birthday Treats

As a reminder, could we please ask that children refrain from bringing sweet treats to school to celebrate their birthday. Although this is a lovely gesture we are working to make our school a healthy place with less frequent treats.  We will of course wish children in class a very happy birthday.

Message from Aldbourne Children’s Book Group:
