St. Michael’s Weekly Post – 4th November 2022

11th November 2022

We are so proud of our school! Yesterday Wiltshire Council School Improvement Advisors (SIAs) visited our school. Following glowing feedback, they requested to see our Continuous Provision Learning (KS1) for themselves.  Each of the SIAs are linked to a number of schools in Wiltshire and visit them regularly to develop teaching and learning.  We were so honoured by their feedback, with comments including “what a wonderful school”, “I wish we were able to showcase your school to other schools” and “such an inspiring day”.  As ever, we want to say a big thank you to the staff and the children for demonstrating what we do best, everyday.

In remembrance for those that gave so much, today we held our two minutes silence on the playground. Henry played the Last Post so beautifully and all the children demonstrated our school value of respect perfectly.

Today has also been the School Council’s Layer Up, Power Down Day to demonstrate how passionately we feel about tackling climate change. Thank you for dressing the children appropriately, they have all remained comfortable throughout the day.

Children in Need – Friday 18th November

Children can come to school in non-uniform, wearing yellow, sparkles or spots on Friday 18th November. There is no need for children to be head to toe in yellow/sparkles/spots, unless of course they want to be, a little of either is fine. Please can we ask you to make a £1 donation to Children In Need via Weduc next week or pop some cash in the bucket on the gate on Friday.  There will be no Celebration Assembly.

Anti-Bullying Week

Next week we will be recognising Anti-Bullying Week. The theme this year is “Reach Out”.  On Friday, which is also non-uniform for Children in Need, we would like children to wear odd socks to help us acknowlege how different and unique we all are.

Festive Dates

We realise it is still a little early to be talking “Christmas” but we would like you to be aware of the following dates:

Christmas Lunch

Christmas Lunch in school will take place on Friday 16th December.  This can be booked on the Lataca IRIS app. If you are not connected to Lataca on IRIS please request a permission slip from info@lataca.co.uk so they can set you up. Please note, unfortunately on the Lataca app, it states the Christmas lunch will be on Monday 19th December in error and this is unable to be amended. Apologies for any confusion this causes.
