St Michael’s Weekly Post – 3rd February 2023

3rd February 2023

On Monday afternoon, KS2 pupils enjoyed a music concert in the church and many of them were able to showcase their musical talents.  It was lovely to have so many family members join us.

On Tuesday, Willows enjoyed a special Ukrainian meal.  The table was set and decorated in Ukrainian colours and the children thoroughly enjoyed a traditional chicken meal.  Thank you Yuliia for cooking such a delicious feast.  This year Willows have been fortunate enough to enjoy food from China, Scotland and now Ukraine, we wonder what cuisine could be next…..?

Acorn Class have been enjoying the story “Mr Wolf’s Pancakes” and yesterday the children put on their metaphorical chef’s hats and made pancakes.  We are so lucky to have wonderful volunteers come in to school to help with these fun activities.  If you would like to volunteer to help in school please do contact the school office admin@stmichaelsalbourne.co.uk as we really appreciate you sharing your skills with the children.

We realise this week has been unusual and disturbed with the school being closed on Wednesday, following a safeguarding and health & safety risk assessment. Teachers at St Michael’s chose to strike due to the chronic underfunding of schools and the impact this is having on children’s education. We do appreciate your patience whilst staff exercise their right to strike.
