St. Michael’s Weekly Post – 16th December 2022

16th December 2022

What a week!! Yesterday the whole school, led by Birch Class, performed a beautiful Nativity in the Church.  It was wonderful to see so many parents and family members there, supporting the school.  We would also like to thank everyone for their generous donations towards WaterAid, in memory of Mrs Godwin, our wonderful TA who passed away this summer.  We raised £325 in cash donations, which she would have been thrilled with.

Today has been another fun day.  Birch Class performed the Nativity at the Aldbourne Nursing Home, which residents really enjoyed.  On their return, they joined the rest of the school for an amazing Christmas lunch, hats, cracker and all the trimmings! A big thank you to our amazing Kitchen staff who cooked a delicious dinner!

Parent Workshop

We are looking forward to welcoming parents into school on Wednesday morning for our parent workshop.  Children are welcome to come into school in non-uniform with a splash of Christmas, this can be a Christmas hat, jump, socks, etc.  Please don’t feel you need to buy anything especially for this.

Afterschool Clubs

Unfortunately, there are some changes to our afterschool clubs next term.  STFC will no longer be running football due to staffing changes and there will be no art or yoga due to the leader’s family commitments. We are continuing to search for new afterschool clubs and will keep you updated on any changes.  If you are aware of anyone who would like to run a club, please do let us know.

The PTA would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who joined us for last Saturday’s Christmas Fayre. It was a wonderful day and it was lovely to see families back in school enjoying the festivities. When combined with the auction (which closes on Friday 16th at 9pm) our Christmas fundraising will have raised over £2,500 for the school. Thank you to all the volunteers that helped make this season’s fundraising possible, both planning events and also running them.
