St. Michael’s Weekly Post – 15th May 2020

15th May 2020

Dear Parents/Carers

It seems hard to believe that there is just one week left of term 5!

Thank you to all of you who are continuing to engage with the home leaning we are sharing. We do appreciate that it can be very hard to keep up with this after so many weeks of school being closed. In order to give the Teaching team, your children and you yourselves a break we will not be sending out any home learning for the week beginning the 25th May.

Many of you will have heard about the possibility of schools re-opening more widely on the 1st June for Reception, Year 1 and 6 as well as continuing to provide a place for the children of Key Workers in other year groups. There has been a separate letter sent home about this and nearer the time we will send out more detailed information about the expectations and routines we will have put in place to make school as safe as we can.

I hope many of you have had time to enjoy the wonderful and uplifting movie which Mr. Everitt put together. If not it can be seen if you click on this link.

Following on from the wonderful video which the Aldbourne Heritage Society created (here) on the role the village played in World War II, they will be joining teachers from St. Michael’s in a live Q&A session on Monday 18th May at 11am. If you’d like your child to be part of the call, your class teacher will post details of the zoom call on Class Dojo on Monday morning. If your child wishes to submit a question in advance, they can use this form: https://forms.gle/qLr29c3w5RVdMUJKA

We hope as many of you as possible can attend this very special zoom meeting.

Please keep well and stay safe.
