13th November 2020
We have had another busy week at school, with Remembrance commemorations, Parents Evenings, this year’s first School Council meeting, a House Day today and a fire drill. The children have done us proud, demonstrating our school values. We particularly wanted to recognise Edward who played a beautiful Last Post following our 2 minutes silence on Wednesday. As well as Tabitha and William for their lovely readings. We would also like to congratulate the Four Barrows House Captains, Daisy, Amelia, Alissia on what has been a great House Day, raising money for Children in Need.
School and Class blog
We regularly blog with details and photos of activities undertaken by the children. You can see photos from a number of the above activities on our homepage or in our News section of our website and also on our Facebook page.
Pupil Data Collection
Please complete our Pupil Data Collection form using this link to ensure we have the most up to date and accurate data on file for each child, by Friday 20th November. We have moved to the online form to make it easier for you to complete at home and to reduce the amount of paper coming into the office during these strange times. When completing the form you will need to have your emergency contact details to hand, along with the address and phone number of your medical practice. Please complete a separate from for each child at school.
Christmas Lunch Bookings
On Wednesday 16th December we will be having our Christmas lunches in our bubbles. If your child would like to have a school Christmas lunch, please book this through Lataca’s ParentMail system. If you are not connected to Lataca in ParentMail please request a permission slip from email@example.com so they can set you up.
As a reminder all children are to have a pair of wellies and trainers that are to be kept at school or brought in each day.
Message from the School Council
Next week is Anti-bullying Awareness Week and we will be recording an assembly to share with the children. On Friday 20th November please can children wear odd socks to help us in understanding how we are all a little different and to celebrate those differences.
Messages from our PTA:
Help us raise money with your Co-op membership – We’re pleased to announce that St Michael’s Aldbourne PTA has been selected as one of the Co-op local causes. If you have a Co-op membership (the blue card you scan at the checkout), please help us by logging into your account and choosing us as your local cause. They give 1% of what you spend on Co-op products to the community project and you can choose which cause your own 1% goes to.
Autumn Makeathon – Thank you to everyone who entered the Autumn Makeathon, and to the residents from the Aldbourne Nursing Home for judging and choosing the winners. Congratulations to Hugo, Sienna, Dexter, Ellie, Zia, Gus, Emily, Alfie and Amber. Your prizes will be on their way to you next week.
You can raise money for the school when you shop online – All you need to do is download the FREE Shop&Give Reminder to your desktop. Whenever you search for shops and products online, you’ll see TheGivingMachine’s ‘giving’ heart next to participating retailers. Click these retailers and you’ll raise a free donation for our school when you make a purchase – it’s as simple as that! https://www.thegivingmachine.co.uk/causes/st-michaels-c-of-e-school-aldbourne/support
